Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Tinto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Luther King Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King Jr has chosen MLK tribute as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Daniel Tinto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Martin Luther King Jr!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from King Jr.
King Jr moves away from the strike by Tinto.
King Jr looks to land a left hand but Tinto moved out of range nicely.
Tinto pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
King Jr shoots in for a takedown but Tinto shows good takedown defense.
Tinto half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Tinto. No joy for King Jr on that attempt.
Tinto changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Daniel Tinto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Martin Luther King Jr.

Tinto throws a hook but King Jr blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

King Jr is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tinto is just riding it out for now. King Jr eventually gives up the hold.

King Jr drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and King Jr jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Tinto is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
King Jr has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Better Than Cozad. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

King Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tinto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

King Jr might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Tinto haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tinto moves into full guard.
King Jr wants to control from the top but Tinto keeps moving.

Tinto has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. King Jr is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Tinto.

That was a close round but I would say that Daniel Tinto will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

King Jr is just content to waste time from the top position. Tinto takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

King Jr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

King Jr drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tinto manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now King Jr has Tinto in his guard.

King Jr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tinto connects with a nice short shot to King Jr's temple.

King Jr is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tinto pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tinto seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but King Jr does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Tinto is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that King Jr can do to turn this around?

Tinto will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

King Jr has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tinto can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
King Jr can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tinto controls the pace.
Tinto seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down King Jr for as long as he can get away with.
Tinto has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

King Jr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tinto sprawls well. Tinto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. King Jr gets slowly back to his feet.

Well Tinto has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Martin Luther King Jr was interviewed post fight and said 'I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. I have a dream today! '.
