The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shlemenko throws a right hand that misses
and Odori counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Odori throws a combination. Shlemenko tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Shlemenko fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Shlemenko scores with a punch to the head.
Shlemenko looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Odori misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Shlemenko counters with a two punch combo.

An inside leg kick from Shlemenko misses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Odori connects with an inside leg kick.

and Shlemenko counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Shlemenko fails with an attempt to clinch.
Shlemenko tries for a takedown but Odori sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Odori! But no joy.

and Shlemenko counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Shlemenko misses with a straight left.

Shlemenko takes a jab right on the kisser.
Odori throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Odori scores with a hook to the body. Shlemenko takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Odori throws a lazy right hand but Shlemenko sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A shot to the body from Shlemenko misses
and Odori counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Odori scores with a kick to the body.
Odori connects with a jab.
Odori ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shlemenko moves away.
Shlemenko throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Odori counters with a nice body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shlemenko throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Odori sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Odori throws a head kick that misses.
A little feinted left hand from Shlemenko on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Nice shot lands for Odori.
A big right from Shlemenko misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shlemenko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shlemenko smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Shlemenko throws a series of punches but Odori moves out of range.
Odori throws a counter combo.
Odori throws a body shot but no joy.
A nice leg kick lands there from Odori.
Odori scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Odori takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Odori cracks Shlemenko with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Shlemenko falls to his knees and Odori doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bon Odori!
