Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chest Rockwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Tinto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Daniel Tinto!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tinto misses with a straight right.
Tinto tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rockwell was well out of range. Poor timing from Tinto.

Rockwell was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tinto.
Rockwell dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Rockwell avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

and Rockwell makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Rockwell connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Tinto is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rockwell has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tinto throws an elbow but Rockwell slips to the side and avoids it well.

Rockwell parries the strikes from Tinto easily there. Tinto is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rockwell to escape.

Rockwell is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Tinto looking to control but instead Rockwell has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Tinto lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Tinto throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Tinto is trying to control the action in half guard but Rockwell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Tinto is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Rockwell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rockwell tries to get out of the position.
Tinto wants to take a breather but Rockwell is having none of it.

Tinto looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

And Tinto tries to counter it with a takedown but Rockwell pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Tinto prevents Rockwell from escaping the position.
Tinto throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Rockwell works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Tinto is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rockwell defends it well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Tinto cracks Rockwell with a big right hand but Rockwell just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Rockwell tries to bum rush Tinto with a series of wild strikes but Tinto uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Chest Rockwell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rockwell lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Chest Rockwell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rockwell throws a combination. Tinto tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Tinto takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Tinto swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tinto closes the distance and clinches up with Rockwell, looking for a takedown. Tinto pushes Rockwell against the cage but Rockwell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
As Tinto backs away, Rockwell returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Rockwell has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Tinto is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Chest Rockwell will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Tinto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rockwell as he jumps to the side.

and Rockwell counters with a nice low kick that buckles Tinto's knee momentarily.

Tinto darts in looking for a takedown but Rockwell gets double underhooks and turns Tinto into the cage.
It looks like Rockwell has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Chest Rockwell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Tinto.
Rockwell lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Tinto is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Rockwell tries to score with a low kick but Tinto moves his leg out of the way.
Rockwell is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
