Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Predator Burns and Ryzen Dall. Burns comes to the cage accompanied by Jiu-Jitsu. Dall has chosen Scarecrow as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 4 losses; Predator Burns! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 3 losses; Ryzen Dall! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Dall tries to clinch up but Burns circles away and keeps his distance. Burns gets in close and instigates a clinch. Burns has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dall uses from the top position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Dall wants to control from the top but Burns keeps moving. Burns is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dall defends well. Burns looking for a sweep. Not yet Burns, not yet. Burns throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Burns is looking for a sweep. Dall is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dall wants to control but Burns is keeping him busy. Burns is trying to get back to full guard. Dall trying to control the action but Burns is working from the bottom. Dall trying to mount his opponent but Burns defends it. Burns is not content to let Dall control the position. Burns's coaches at Canadian Elite Bruins Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Dall is working for a kimura but Burns is defending it quite comfortably.

Burns tries to free his leg and advance position but Dall is retaining full guard. Dall is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Burns is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Dall is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Dall has his foot on Burns's thigh. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burns controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Dall keeping full guard, as Burns tries to pass. Dall looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Score +3 for passing guard: Burns (8) vs (3) Dall Burns is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dall knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Dall gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Burns is thwarting Dall's attempts to control the position. Dall has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Burns wants to take a breather but Dall is having none of it. Burns tries to pass to full mount but Dall defends it. Dall has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Burns is working away from the top position though.

Burns is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dall is just riding it out for now. Burns eventually gives up the hold. That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Dall can't do much from the bottom here. Dall is trying to improve his position. Burns has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Dall! The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dall manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Dall prevents Burns from getting a body triangle. Burns looking for the RNC. Dall turns into Burns and is now in his guard.
Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Burns (25) vs (5) Dall Burns looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dall is one step ahead there. Dall sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Burns's guard. Dall is looking for a kimura but Burns is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dall to get the leverage. Dall passes to side control. Score +3 for passing guard: Burns (25) vs (8) Dall The referee asks Dall politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Dall prefers to stall for the moment though. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dall tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dall has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Burns is trying to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Burns takes the fight on points by 25 to 8. As Predator Burns got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Thanks guys, I have worked hard and the Burns team got me back on track. I regret not starting my career with Bradley Burns and my family but now I'm home.'. |
