Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Byron Tipton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dermis Gamboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dermis Gamboa will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Byron Tipton!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dermis Gamboa!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gamboa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tipton tries to counter with a takedown but Gamboa is quick to defend against it.
Gamboa scores with a shot to the body.

Tipton feinted with a counter takedown.
Gamboa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tipton sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Tipton drops down looking for a counter takedown but Gamboa sprawls and moves away.

Tipton tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gamboa was well out of range. Poor timing from Tipton.

Tipton throws a front kick aimed at Gamboa's knee but Gamboa avoids it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gamboa stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Gamboa stuffs the takedown attempt from Tipton. Tipton gets slowly back to his feet.
Byron Tipton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tipton misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gamboa wants to counter with a clinch but Tipton pushes him away.

Tipton tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gamboa was well out of range. Poor timing from Tipton.

Tipton looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Tipton tries to counter with a takedown but Gamboa is quick to defend against it.
Gamboa has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.

Gamboa has Tipton pressed against the ropes, preventing Tipton from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Tipton jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gamboa walks away with a smile on his face. Tipton gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gamboa drops Tipton with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Tipton looks back up at him and smiles so Gamboa waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Tipton is rocked!
Tipton shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gamboa scores with a counter punch that sends Tipton to the canvas! Gamboa smells blood - he's punishing Tipton with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Tipton has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dermis Gamboa!
Dermis Gamboa is the new bantamweight champion!
During a confident post fight interview, Dermis Gamboa thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
