Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Don Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Vieira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vieira comes into a darkened arena with his song building. T.I. - Go get it kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Don Stewart has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Stewart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rafael Vieira!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Stewart. That snapped Vieira's head back.
Vieira walks into a left hand.
Stewart scores with a hook to the body. Vieira takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Vieira lands with a cross.
Vieira tries to clinch but Stewart moves out of range.
Stewart throws a looping overhand right but Vieira ducks down to avoid it.
Stewart shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vieira as he jumps to the side.
Stewart waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Vieira.
Vieira looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Stewart walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stewart misses with a straight right.
Donk. Vieira catches Stewart right on the button with a cross.
Stewart takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Stewart changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Stewart throws a jab when Vieira was well out of range.
A little jabbing left from Vieira on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Vieira stuffs the takedown.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stewart lands a lovely overhand right.
Vieira throws a jab but it's blocked by Stewart.
Stewart scores with the left hand. Vieira knows he should have avoided that one.
Stewart fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Stewart. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stewart shoots in for a takedown but Vieira shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Vieira looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Stewart swings for the body but Vieira moves out of range.
Stewart takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Stewart is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Stewart closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vieira circles away.
Stewart avoids a kick to the body.
Stewart half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Stewart fails with a takedown attempt.
Stewart will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Vieira misses with a body kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Stewart. Vieira does a little dance to reset his feet.
Vieira looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

enabling Vieira to counter with a crisp jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vieira wants to clinch but Stewart slips to the side

and Stewart counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Vieira!
Vieira is looking for a sweep.

Stewart tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Stewart has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Stewart looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Vieira is avoiding damage well.
Vieira is not content to let Stewart control the position.
Vieira regains half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vieira wants to get back to full guard but Stewart has passed into side control.
Vieira takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Vieira is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Stewart is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vieira is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Vieira manages to work his way to half guard, despite Stewart's best efforts.
Stewart tries to pass to full mount but Vieira defends it.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Vieira is trying to control but can't.

Vieira is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stewart pulls his head out easily.
Vieira is looking to improve his position.

Stewart is looking for a kimura but Vieira is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Stewart to get the leverage.
Vieira is trying to control but can't.

Stewart seems to be working for a kimura but Vieira defends the submission attempt.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Vieira has hold of Stewart's hands but Stewart slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Nice strikes from Stewart there.
Stewart is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Vieira!

Vieira is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Vieira tries to hold on but Stewart postures up.
Stewart looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Vieira working to try and regain half guard.
Stewart is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Vieira can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
Stewart breaks from Vieira's wrist control and lands an elbow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stewart lands a heavy elbow.


Vieira is rocked!
Stewart lands a big shot there that rocks Vieira but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Vieira is still in real trouble! Can Stewart finish him?

Vieira tries to hold on but Stewart postures up.
Stewart is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Vieira goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Stewart!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Don Stewart!
A relieved looking Don Stewart thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
