I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Vorster is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Szczęsny has escaped the position, nice work there. We've been hearing good reports from Vorster's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Vorster has knee on belly and moves into mount. Vorster looking for a guillotine from mount but Szczęsny is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vorster trying to control but Szczęsny is having none of it. Szczęsny is a painfully thin specimen of a man. That's one minute gone in the round. Vorster looking to secure an arm triangle but Szczęsny defends it well. Vorster tries to control but Szczęsny wriggling away. Vorster goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Szczęsny turns into him and now he's in Vorster's guard.
Vorster keeping moving, preventing Szczęsny from controlling successfully. Szczęsny wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Vorster's closed guard. He's half up but Vorster has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Vorster pivots and extends the arm, Szczęsny falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Vorster! Well done that man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jandre Vorster! Jandre Vorster decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. The defeated Victor Szczęsny had this to say: 'I really wanted to Win but it didn't work out. I'm looking to win back this title, I'll come back'.
