Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ebswet Scofield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jesus Torres!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scofield shoots in for a takedown but Torres shows good takedown defense.
Torres throws a counter combo.
Scofield looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Scofield wants to pass the guard but Torres is keeping the position.
Torres really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Scofield. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Scofield drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Torres dives on top into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Torres wanted to stand there but Scofield had control of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Torres gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Torres wants to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Torres jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Scofield fails with a takedown attempt.
Torres lands a left and a right that send Scofield crashing to the mat, dazed. Torres thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Scofield is rocked!
It looks like Ebswet Scofield has been cut.
Scofield gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Torres counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Scofield has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jesus Torres!
