Petrucci has chosen Under A Glass Moon as his entrance music. Lazzar Mcshrads has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lazzar Mcshrads! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Petrucci! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Petrucci looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Petrucci keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Petrucci punishes Mcshrads's body with a nice straight punch. Mcshrads wants to clinch up but Petrucci keeps it at a distance. A slow jab from Petrucci misses its intended target. We've been hearing reports that Mcshrads has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Petrucci misses with a looping right. Mcshrads shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Petrucci pinned against the cage. Petrucci gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mcshrads feints and as Petrucci raises his hands in defense, Mcshrads changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mcshrads accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Petrucci can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mcshrads controls the pace. Mcshrads throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcshrads drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mcshrads jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mcshrads looking to pass the guard. Mcshrads won't allow Petrucci to sweep him here. Petrucci trying to control the position.
Mcshrads trying to control the position from guard on top but Petrucci is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Petrucci can't keep his opponent in guard - Mcshrads advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Mcshrads takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mcshrads is working for a kimura but Petrucci is defending it quite comfortably.
Petrucci is looking to get back to full guard here but Mcshrads has managed to pass to side control instead. Mcshrads trying to control the position but Petrucci is working away. Mcshrads advances nicely into full mount. Mcshrads working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Petrucci turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Mcshrads off and cradles Petrucci's limp body as Mcshrads celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Lazzar Mcshrads! A pretty intense looking Lazzar Mcshrads took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
