Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Samuel Paelinck!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kim shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kim was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kim wants to control the pace but Paelinck is squirming around nicely.
Paelinck is trying to escape the mount.
Paelinck wants to control but Kim is having none of it.

Paelinck is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kim will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Paelinck lands a good elbow from the bottom.

Kim avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kim trying to stand up but can't free himself from Paelinck's guard.
Paelinck has control of Kim's left arm, preventing Kim from doing any damage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Kim drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Paelinck misses with a takedown

and Kim counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Paelinck tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Kim is looking to take a break and control but Paelinck is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Paelinck wants to control but Kim is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Paelinck is pressing down on Kim's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Paelinck is looking to stand back up but Kim counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Paelinck.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kim looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Kim is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Paelinck knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Paelinck tries to buck Kim off but Kim is having none of it.
You can see the frustration on Paelinck's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Paelinck regains half guard.
Paelinck has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kim is working away from the top position though.
Kim prevents Paelinck from improving his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Kim misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Paelinck moves into the clinch.

Paelinck is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kim can't fight it off and eventually Paelinck manages to take the fight to the floor. Kim looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Paelinck pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kim is keeping the position for now.
Paelinck has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kim is proving hard to escape from.

Paelinck wants to stand and escape but instead Kim has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Kim slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Paelinck is looking for a triangle but Kim pushes his legs off easily.

Paelinck has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Kim should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Paelinck has tightened it up now! Kim should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
