PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jay Codina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benjamin Tay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Codina might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Right back where we started from. Tay has chosen PONPONPON as his entrance music. Jay Codina had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. This should be a great matchup!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tay looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Codina will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Tay slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Codina has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Tay celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Benjamin Tay! As Benjamin Tay got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: So Mr. Lawrence, am I getting a red corner fight next time, I damn well feel I deserve it.'.
