Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rhaego Wolf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rhaego Wolf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Hicks!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Hicks finds it's way through Wolf's defenses.
Hicks pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Wolf drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hicks is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wolf working away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wolf is looking to take a break and control but Hicks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hicks is letting Wolf control him for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hicks prevents Wolf from moving into mount.
You can see the frustration on Hicks's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Wolf wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hicks keeps working.
The referee asks Wolf politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Wolf prefers to stall for the moment though.
Hicks is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Wolf tries to move to mount but Hicks blocks the move with his legs.
Wolf advances nicely into full mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hicks is squirming around, avoiding Wolf's attempts to control the action.
Hicks is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Hicks tries to hold on but Wolf postures up.
Wolf wants to take Hicks's back but he can't do it this time.
Wolf controlling the pace for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Wolf is working for a guillotine from mount but Hicks frees his head quite easily.
Wolf avoids the attempt from Hicks to control.
Wolf trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hicks tries to hold on but Wolf postures up.
Hicks is squirming around, avoiding Wolf's attempts to control the action.
Hicks is looking to get to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Wolf trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hicks tries to hold on but Wolf pushes him away.
Wolf wants to control the pace but Hicks is squirming around nicely.
Hicks is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wolf fails to move to back control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rhaego Wolf dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Jab by Hicks.
Wolf has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hicks finds it's way round the side to connect with Wolf's head.
Hicks ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wolf moves away.
Hicks lands a lovely overhand right.
Rhaego Wolf is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Wolf decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wolf is thwarting Hicks's attempts to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wolf trying to control the pace.
Wolf wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hicks keeps working.

Wolf is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Wolf engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Hicks wants to control but Wolf passes easily into half guard.
Still in half guard, Wolf seems content to control.
Hicks is looking to control Wolf's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hicks avoid being mounted?

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wolf wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hicks keeps working.
Wolf takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Wolf seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hicks for as long as he can get away with.
Hicks looks like he's trying to stand up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Wolf moves forwards but Hicks connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Hicks scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Wolf moves in looking to clinch but Hicks pushes him off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hicks works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Wolf keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wolf takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Steve Hicks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hicks sizes up Wolf with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.


Wolf is rocked!
Hicks scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Wolf walks into a straight right hand from Hicks.
Oh Wolf is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wolf drops his hands for a split second and Hicks immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Wolf face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Hicks follows up with a right hand that knocks Wolf into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Steve Hicks!
