Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Cantor!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paniikki fails with the takedown.
Paniikki fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The fighters circling - Cantor throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Paniikki fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cantor avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pelle Paniikki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Paniikki shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Cantor counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Paniikki looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cantor is fending him off so far but Paniikki persists. Nope, Cantor circles away and we're back to standing.
Paniikki goes for a double leg but Cantor avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Cantor continues to drive forward.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Paniikki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cantor swivels and escapes.
Paniikki shoots in but no luck this time.
Cantor throws out a counter right but Paniikki avoids it with no problem.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Paniikki.
Cantor scores with a nice head shot.
Pelle Paniikki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A slapping leg kick lands for Cantor.
Paniikki fails with a takedown attempt.
Cantor tries to land a leg kick but Paniikki saw it coming and moves away.
Cantor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Paniikki shoots in for a double leg but Cantor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Cantor was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Roger Cantor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Paniikki shoots in but Cantor avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That kick from Cantor tenderised Paniikki's leg. Paniikki is trying to keep his angry face on.
Paniikki doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Cantor makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Cantor.
Paniikki drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cantor is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Cantor looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cantor can't keep his opponent in guard - Paniikki advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Cantor makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cantor.

Paniikki postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cantor is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Paniikki, into his guard.
Cantor looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cantor tries to stand but Paniikki is controlling from the bottom.
Paniikki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cantor gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Paniikki looking for a guillotine here but Cantor defends easily.
Cantor has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Paniikki to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Cantor is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Paniikki pulls down on the head and he's put Cantor to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Pelle Paniikki!
