Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Graig Mullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Kulina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Graig Mullen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nate Kulina! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mullen closes the distance and clinches. Mullen pulls Kulina into guard.
Mullen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Mullen managing to control the position. Mullen wants to sweep here but Kulina controlling him for the moment. Mullen is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Kulina fails with a takedown attempt. Mullen scores with a head kick.
Mullen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mullen lands in his opponent's guard. Kulina can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mullen controls the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kulina keeping moving, preventing Mullen from controlling successfully. Kulina is wriggling around but Mullen manages to pass to half guard.
Kulina looks like he's trying to stand up.
Mullen with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kulina pushes Mullen off and gets back to his feet. Kulina shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Kulina is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Mullen manages to get to full guard. Kulina wants to get up but he can't break Mullen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Mullen controlling Kulina's posture. Mullen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kulina manages to get himself to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mullen prevents Kulina from getting back to his feet. Kulina wants to get back to his feet but Mullen passes into half guard.
Kulina manages to escape and get back to his feet! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kulina scores with a jab to the body. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kulina connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Kulina fails with a takedown attempt from distance. As Kulina tries to get set, Mullen tries to push him back and clinch up but Kulina manages to avoid the attempt. Mullen closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kulina did well to prevent Mullen getting side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Graig Mullen will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kulina throws a head kick that misses. Mullen tries to counter by clinching up but Kulina breaks away and moves out of range. Kulina moves into the clinch. Mullen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kulina pulls him back up using the underhooks. Mullen changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kulina fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Graig Mullen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mullen gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Mullen tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Kulina is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Mullen buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Mullen!! Mullen is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Kulina throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nate Kulina!
