Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hayden Mills (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Alves! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mills's guard. Mills controls Alves momentarily but Alves frees himself. Alves postures up in Mills's guard and throws a big left but Mills blocks it. Mills looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alves is one step ahead there. Alves looking to pass the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mills working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Alves has passed into half guard!
Mills is looking to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mills is trying to control but Alves manages to pass to mount!
Alves controlling from the full mount. Mills tries to lock up and control but Alves gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Alves lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Alves takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Mills wants to hold on but Alves pushes him away. That's three minutes gone in the round. Mills looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Alves doesn't have the hooks in and Mills manages to turn into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alves throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Alves has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mills is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Alves. Alves is looking to reverse the position. You can see the frustration on Alves's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Mills wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alves keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mills swings around for an armbar but Alves sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mills's guard. Alves loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Alves trying to control the position from guard on top but Mills is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Alves advances to half guard. Mills is controlling Alves's position as best he can from this difficult position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mills is not content to let Alves control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Alves dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alves. It looked like Mills wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Alves tries for a takedown but Mills sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Alves misses with a body kick. Alves tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mills swivels and escapes. Hayden Mills has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Alves. Alves misses with a wild combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mills fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alves, pushing him back against the cage. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mills.

Alves doesn't succeed with the takedown and Mills counters by moving into the clinch. Mills's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Mills decides to pull guard. Alves trying to control but Mills is working from the bottom. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mills holds on and takes a little breather.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mills avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mills is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Mills working a defensive guard here.
Alves won't allow Mills to sweep him here. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Mills knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alves on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mills escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Alves gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Alves throws a sloppy head kick and Mills moves out of range easily. Alves has managed to clinch.

Mills effectively controlling the action here. Alves jumps into guard, dragging Mills to the mat.
Alves is pulling down on Mills's head. It's preventing any offense from Mills, at least for the moment. Alves lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alves works over Mills with some ground and pound from guard. Mills pulls Alves in close to his closed guard and prevents Alves from doing any damage or advancing position. Alves trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mills might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mills wants to sweep here but Alves controlling him for the moment. Alves passes Mills's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Alves tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Mills. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Michael Alves will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Alves shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Alves is taking a breather. Mills says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mills closes the distance and clinches up with Alves, looking for a takedown. Mills pushes Alves against the cage but Alves circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Alves gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mills counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Alves ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Alves no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Mills drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alves manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mills has Alves in his guard. Mills is adopting a defensive guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves wanted to stand there but Mills had control of the position. Alves postures up in Mills's guard and throws a big left but Mills blocks it. Mills controls Alves momentarily but Alves frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Alves lands a couple of elbows. Alves trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mills is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Mills avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Alves is stalling in the full guard. Alves scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
And that's the end of the fight! Michael Alves comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Alves winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
