Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ezra Pittman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Alonso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Xavier Alonso has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ezra Pittman's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Ezra Pittman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Xavier Alonso!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alonso throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pittman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Alonso is in Pittman's guard.
Pittman strikes from his own guard.
Alonso throwing strikes from guard but Pittman blocks nicely.
Alonso's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Alonso postures up.
Alonso connects with a couple of short punches.
Pittman wants to stand and escape but Alonso is having none of it.
Pittman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Alonso throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alonso not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alonso is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Alonso wants to control from the top but Pittman keeps moving.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Alonso is pushing Pittman up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Pittman has Alonso pressed against the cage, preventing Alonso from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pittman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Alonso is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Alonso controls Pittman momentarily but Pittman frees himself.
Alonso has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Alonso wants to hit a switch here but Pittman passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Alonso there!

Alonso tries to lock up and control but Pittman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Pittman won't let Alonso get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Pittman goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Alonso is on top in guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pittman will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Alonso misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pittman.
Alonso wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pittman has him pressed against the cage.
Alonso will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Pittman up against the cage.
Pittman is trying to pull guard but Alonso turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Alonso is trying to trip Pittman. He has hold of a leg but Pittman is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Alonso persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Pittman manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Alonso shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pittman napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Pittman throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Pittman tries to control but Alonso manages to take his back.

Pittman scrambles and gets back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pittman has a takedown stuffed.
Alonso is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Alonso pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pittman throws a big counter combination but Alonso scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Pittman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Alonso sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pittman somewhat.

Alonso wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Alonso is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Alonso using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Pittman has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Alonso shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pittman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Alonso stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pittman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Alonso is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Alonso passes into half guard.
Pittman tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Pittman wants to get back to full guard.
Alonso not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Alonso is thwarting Pittman's attempts to control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Xavier Alonso comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Alonso has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
