Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nate Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franco Hupp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzalez comes to the cage accompanied by Gangsta Gangsta by N.W.A. Hupp has chosen Moustache Song as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice uppercut lands for Gonzalez. That snapped Hupp's head back.
Gonzalez gets a double leg takedown into Hupp's guard. Hupp doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Gonzalez wants to control from the top but Hupp keeps moving. Gonzalez looking to pass the guard. Gonzalez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hupp is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gonzalez, into his guard.
Gonzalez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hupp can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hupp trying to control but Gonzalez is working from the bottom. Hupp trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gonzalez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hupp doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hupp manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hupp trying to stand up but can't free himself from Gonzalez's guard. Hupp must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hupp is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Gonzalez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hupp defends well. Gonzalez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hupp is aware though and is defending well. Hupp trying to control but Gonzalez is working from the bottom. Hupp is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Gonzalez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gonzalez scoring with punches to the head and body. Gonzalez forces his way into half guard. Gonzalez throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Gonzalez in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Hupp tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Gonzalez!
