Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donnie Felterbush! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chris Severn! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Severn misses with a double jab.
Felterbush looks to land a right hand but Severn moved out of range. Severn throws a hook but Felterbush blocks it. Felterbush checks a leg kick. Felterbush half committed to a counter leg kick. Severn chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Felterbush can pounce on him.
Severn keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Felterbush displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Felterbush shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Severn as he avoids it easily. Severn swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Severn scores with a jab to the head.
Felterbush lands a jab to Severn's midsection. Donnie Felterbush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Severn takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. We've been informed that Severn has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Felterbush throws a sloppy head kick and Severn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Felterbush looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Felterbush fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Severn has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Felterbush throws a body kick that misses and Severn counters with a takedown into side control. Felterbush regains half guard, as Severn was trying to land strikes. Severn lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Severn trying to control from half guard but Felterbush is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Severn is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Severn is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Felterbush doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Severn. Felterbush regains full guard. Nicely done.

Felterbush uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Severn's guard. Nice move by Felterbush! Severn controlling Felterbush's posture. Felterbush throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Felterbush with a nice head shot there. Severn wants to sweep here but Felterbush controlling him for the moment. Severn trying to control but Felterbush is working from the bottom. Felterbush wants to improve his position but instead Severn has moved into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Severn is keen to just control but Felterbush is a slippery customer. Felterbush is trying to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Severn throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Felterbush regains full guard. Nicely done. Severn stopping the sweep attempt from Felterbush. Felterbush manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Severn manages to get himself to full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Donnie Felterbush will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Donnie Felterbush's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Severn throws a body punch but Felterbush moves out of range. The fighters circle momentarily. Severn darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Felterbush misses with a body kick. Severn stuns Felterbush with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Severn lands a nice hook to Felterbush's body. Felterbush takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Felterbush misses with a leg kick and Severn counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Felterbush thinking. Felterbush swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Felterbush fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Severn is out of range. Severn lands a jab to Felterbush's midsection. Felterbush looks to score with a jab to the body but Severn is just out of range. Severn throws a low kick but Felterbush avoids it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Felterbush looks to throw the jab but Severn is out of range. Felterbush lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Felterbush has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Felterbush there as he acknowledges the shot. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Felterbush's jab looks to have found its range, popping Severn under the eye. A big left from Felterbush misses.

and Felterbush counters with a nice body shot. Severn throws a low kick but Felterbush avoids it. Severn takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Felterbush dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Felterbush wants to clinch up but Severn keeps it at a distance. Felterbush moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromSevern. Felterbush throws a head kick but Severn moves out of range.
Severn throws a nice inside leg kick. Severn has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Severn fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Felterbush takes a shot to the body in his stride.

A big right from Severn misses. Severn throws a wild body kick that Felterbush sees coming a mile off. Felterbush bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Chris Severn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Severn takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Felterbush is trying to break the clinch but Severn has him pressed against the cage. Severn throws a head punch that misses. A short uppercut from Felterbush. Severn misses with some punches.
Severn is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Felterbush can't fight it off and eventually Severn manages to take the fight to the floor. Felterbush looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Severn postures up in Felterbush's guard and throws a big left but Felterbush blocks it. Severn pushing down on Felterbush's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Felterbush flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Severn cracks Felterbush with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Severn landing strikes from the mount and Felterbush is in trouble! Felterbush sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Severn is working for a submission of some sort.
Felterbush is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Severn's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Severn's back! Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Felterbush.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Felterbush tries to keep control of the position but Severn is staying busy. Felterbush lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Felterbush keeps control of the position as Severn tries to break free.

And Severn responds with a good body kick, but Felterbush manages to step out the way in time. Severn takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Nice uppercut lands for Severn. That snapped Felterbush's head back.

Severn on the wrong end of a nice hook. Severn looks to land a right hand but Felterbush moved out of range. Severn tries to keep at a distance but Felterbush has taken the fight into the clinch. Severn turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Severn manages to end up in side control. Felterbush parries the strikes from Severn easily there. Severn is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Felterbush to escape.

Felterbush is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Severn wants to control but Felterbush is keeping him busy. Severn thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The fighters are battling for position here. Felterbush manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Severn working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Felterbush's head. Felterbush has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Severn keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Felterbush's head. Felterbush is trying to control the position but Severn postures up. Felterbush has control of Severn's left arm, preventing Severn from doing any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Felterbush swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Severn. Severn takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Severn takes a swing at Felterbush's ribcage but misses. Severn blocks the body kick.

Severn is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Felterbush crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Severn - the referee stops the clock and Felterbush gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Severn. Felterbush manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Severn has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Felterbush. Severn fails in his attempt to clinch. Felterbush blocks a head kick by Severn.
A little feinted left hand from Felterbush on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Severn uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Felterbush. Severn wants to counter with a clinch but Felterbush pushes him away. Felterbush tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Severn is able to avoid easily. Felterbush looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Felterbush on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Severn pivots, looking for a leg kick but Felterbush is out of range and Severn settles back down. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Severn jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round. Severn cracks Felterbush with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Felterbush falls to his knees and Severn doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
