Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Otis Whittaker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joseph Duffy! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whittaker gets a clinch. Whittaker working some nice short punches in the clinch. A body shot lands from Whittaker.
Duffy jumps guard but Whittaker turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Whittaker makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Our sources have told us that Whittaker has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Whittaker lands a right hand. Duffy jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Whittaker walks away with a smile on his face. Duffy gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Duffy defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Whittaker. Duffy tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Duffy. Otis Whittaker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Duffy. Duffy is trying hard to land a takedown here. Whittaker sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Duffy dives in and grabs Whittaker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Whittaker pushes down on Duffy's head and hops out. Duffy tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Whittaker defends well and Duffy ends up having to push Whittaker into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Whittaker appears to be looking for a big counter. Whittaker rushes Duffy and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Duffy tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Duffy shoots for a double leg takedown but Whittaker sprawls well. He's pushed Duffy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Duffy dives in for a single leg takedown but Whittaker sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Duffy has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Whittaker is landing a low percentage of strikes. Duffy looks winded! Duffy shoots in for a takedown.
