Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
29 - 58 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, David Trezeguet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
24 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Iwan Matwijenko!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matwijenko connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Trezeguet takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Trezeguet takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Matwijenko bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Matwijenko throws a nice inside leg kick.
and Matwijenko counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Trezeguet! He's just covering up as Matwijenko starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Iwan Matwijenko!
Iwan Matwijenko decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
