Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rancho Wildslap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mickey Darmody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wildslap's entrance music is Rawhide. A fine choice. Mickey Darmody will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rancho Wildslap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mickey Darmody!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darmody misses with a straight right.
Darmody connects with a looping right hand.
Darmody throws a combination that misses

and Wildslap counters with a single leg into guard. Darmody didn't expect that.
Darmody trying to keep a closed guard but Wildslap is proving a slippery customer.
Wildslap pushes down on Darmody's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Darmody has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Wildslap seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wildslap's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Wildslap is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Darmody sees it coming and defends easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Darmody can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wildslap seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Wildslap throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Wildslap passes the guard and advances to mount!
Wildslap looking to control and managing it successfully.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rancho Wildslap dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Wildslap blocks a jab.
Wildslap wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Darmody misses with the body kick

and Wildslap holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Wildslap working aggressively here.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Darmody is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Wildslap is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Darmody can do to turn this around?

Darmody tries to stall but Wildslap uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Wildslap is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Darmody can't fight it off and eventually Wildslap manages to take the fight to the floor. Darmody looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wildslap sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Darmody's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wildslap uses his free foot to push down on Darmody's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Darmody.

Wildslap tries to control but Darmody wriggling away.
Darmody is trying to escape the mount.
Wildslap controlling the position easily from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Darmody tries to lock up and control but Wildslap gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Wildslap here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Darmody is trying to escape the mount.
Rancho Wildslap overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wildslap looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Darmody is desperately trying to improve his position but Wildslap has a good base and remains in mount.
Darmody wants to control but Wildslap is having none of it.
Wildslap controlling from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wildslap seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Darmody for as long as he can get away with.
Wildslap moves to take his opponent's back.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Darmody wants to escape the position.
Darmody just trying to survive but Wildslap is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Darmody tries to escape but Wildslap has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
I would not like to be Darmody right now.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rancho Wildslap dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Darmody darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Wildslap fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Darmody looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wildslap shoots for a takedown but Darmody saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Wildslap decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wildslap perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wildslap seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Darmody does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Wildslap is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Darmody!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Darmody has given up his back. Will we see Wildslap going for some submissions?

Wildslap has his arm under Darmody's chin here. Game over son! Wildslap squeezes tightly and Darmody is forced to tap out!

After winning the bout, Rancho Wildslap thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
