Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Domingo Underwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerry Pounder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gerry Pounder has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Domingo Underwood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerry Pounder!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Pounder gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Underwood to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Pounder tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Pounder bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Underwood's guard.

Pounder stays in close to Underwood's body and controls the position.
Underwood is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pounder is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pounder throws an elbow that misses. Underwood uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pounder's guard. Nice move by Underwood!

Pounder is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pounder slows the pace down in half guard.

Pounder is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Pounder is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Underwood wants to control but Pounder is keeping busy.
Pounder slows the pace down in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Underwood actively working from the bottom here.
Still in half guard, Pounder seems content to control.
Pounder thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Pounder controlling the action here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Underwood dives in and scores a takedown into Pounder's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pounder throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Pounder looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Let's hope that Pounder has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Underwood got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pounder has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Underwood has managed to get both his arms back between Pounder's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Gerry Pounder will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Underwood avoids the head kick by Pounder.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pounder.

Underwood shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pounder napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Underwood trying to control the action but Pounder is working from the bottom.

Pounder throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Underwood could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Pounder wants to control but Underwood postures up.
Pounder is looking to regain half guard here but Underwood keeps moving and retains side control.
Pounder can't do much from the bottom here.

Underwood is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pounder knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Pounder tries to buck Underwood off but Underwood is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Pounder is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Underwood off and has taken his back!
Pounder biding his time, controlling Underwood.
Underwood tries to escape but Pounder has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pounder has good solid back control here.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Pounder.

Pounder has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Underwood is defending well but eventually Pounder manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Underwood has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Gerry Pounder!
