The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stallworth tries for a takedown but Turpin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Stallworth tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Turpin swivels and escapes. Excellent takedown into side control there by Turpin. Stallworth tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Turpin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stallworth has escaped the position, nice work there. Stallworth is trying to get back to half guard. Turpin wants to control but Stallworth is keeping him busy. You can see the frustration on Stallworth's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Turpin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stallworth is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Stallworth tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stallworth is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Turpin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stallworth knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Stallworth tries to get back to half guard but can't. Turpin advances to full mount. Stallworth defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Turpin. Turpin wants to control the pace but Stallworth is squirming around nicely. Turpin prevents Stallworth from getting the reversal.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stallworth is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Turpin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Stallworth has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Turpin is breathing heavily. Turpin misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Stallworth really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Turpin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Stallworth tries to control the position but Turpin now has his back.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Turpin tightening his grip on Stallworth, looking for the choke. Turpin controlling well, preventing Stallworth from escaping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stallworth wants to get back to his feet. Stallworth looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Turpin is looking for the choke from the back position but Stallworth is controlling his hands well. Stallworth trying to control the position but Turpin manages to sink in the hooks. Stallworth is in bad spot here.

Stallworth is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Turpin.
Stallworth is trying to defend against the choke here but Turpin has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Turpin Tightens the hold and Stallworth taps out furiously! Turpin displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
