Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brian Fantana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Madrigal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Madrigal has chosen Lil Jon-Throw it Up as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Fantana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
31 - 17 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Julio Madrigal! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Madrigal blocks a jab. Madrigal uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fantana.
Decent striking displayed by Madrigal there. Madrigal has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Madrigal takes a jab right on the kisser.
Fantana loads up on a big right hand but Madrigal slips the punch. Fantana gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Madrigal. Julio Madrigal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A big left from Fantana misses. Fantana waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Madrigal. Fantana scores with a sloppy right hand. Madrigal should have avoided that one. Fantana looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. A looping hook to the body misses from Madrigal. Fantana does a little dance to reset his feet. Madrigal uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Fantana has time to react. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Madrigal throws the left hand but Fantana avoids the punch easily. Madrigal fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Fantana misses with a body shot.
Fantana cracks Madrigal with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. The fighters circle momentarily. Fantana darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Fantana lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Madrigal. Fantana scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Madrigal moves out of range of the strikes. Madrigal throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Madrigal takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Madrigal is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Madrigal swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Fantana fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Madrigal manages to avoid it. Fantana displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Madrigal throws out the jab. Fantana tries to move into range but Madrigal moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Fantana pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Madrigal slips a straight right by Fantana. Brian Fantana is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A momentary lapse in concentration from Fantana enables Madrigal to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fantana manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Madrigal throwing strikes but missing. Madrigal tries to free his leg and advance position but Fantana is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantana is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fantana is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Madrigal is just riding it out for now. Fantana eventually gives up the hold. Madrigal looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Madrigal wants to control but Fantana is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Madrigal is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Fantana's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Fantana's back! The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Madrigal's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Fantana looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Fantana tries to escape the position.

A close round but Julio Madrigal will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Madrigal takes a shot right to the bread basket. Madrigal shoots in looking for a takedown but Fantana manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Madrigal's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Horrible takedown attempt by Madrigal or perhaps it was just good defense by Fantana, which made it look bad. Brian Fantana is winning the standup battle so far. Fantana scores with a jab to the head.
A big right from Madrigal misses. Fantana jabbing away but nothing is landing. Fantana swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A little jabbing left from Madrigal on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Fantana thuds a left hand into Madrigal's body. A shot to the liver by Fantana. Beautiful body shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fantana ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Madrigal moves away. Madrigal swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Madrigal has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Fantana throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Madrigal sees it coming and avoids it easily. Fantana gets caught flat footed, as Madrigal shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Madrigal preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Madrigal drops back looking for a leg! Fantana is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fantana manages to kick Madrigal off! Madrigal jumps back into Fantana's guard. Fantana wants to sweep here but Madrigal controlling him for the moment. Fantana is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Madrigal had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fantana defends it easily. Fantana lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Fantana might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Madrigal has his foot on Fantana's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fantana works his way back into a safe position though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Madrigal is rocked! Madrigal is squirming around, avoiding Fantana's attempts to control the action. Madrigal slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Fantana is nestled in close to Madrigal, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Madrigal moves into full guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Brian Fantana showed his dominance in that final round. Well Fantana has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Brian Fantana! A relieved looking Brian Fantana thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. Julio Madrigal was interviewed post fight and said 'Props to him, he beat me fair and square this time. I will go back to the gym and get better, I'm going to win my belt back.'.
