Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hanzo Hasashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wallace McGrady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hanzo Hasashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wallace McGrady!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hasashi rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and McGrady counters with a nice body shot.
Sloppy strikes from McGrady. Those never looked like landing.
McGrady slips a straight right by Hasashi.
McGrady throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wallace McGrady seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice jab there from McGrady.
McGrady throws a right and a left that both miss.

McGrady swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hasashi seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
A slow jab from McGrady misses its intended target.
The fight stays on the outside here - McGrady looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
McGrady throws a body shot but no joy.
Hasashi feinted with a counter takedown.
McGrady misses the shot to the body.
As McGrady tries to get set, Hasashi tries to push him back and clinch up but McGrady manages to avoid the attempt.
McGrady tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hasashi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McGrady somewhat.
Hasashi attempts a counter takedown but McGrady avoids it well and moves away.

Hasashi keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McGrady misses with an uppercut.
McGrady throws a right hand that misses

and Hasashi counters with a shoot takedown. McGrady fights it but they end up in guard.
Hasashi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Hasashi has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Hasashi advances to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hasashi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Hasashi blocks the strikes from McGrady.
McGrady tries to kick Hasashi off but Hasashi keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Hasashi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McGrady is just riding it out for now. Hasashi eventually gives up the hold.
McGrady looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hasashi seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McGrady for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hasashi misses with a hook. McGrady ducked under it nicely.
Hasashi misses the jab.
McGrady ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hasashi moves away.
McGrady misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hasashi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
McGrady misses with a lunging right hand

and Hasashi counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hasashi controlling from the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hanzo Hasashi will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hasashi cracks McGrady with an open hand slap.
Hasashi throws a hook but McGrady blocks it.
Despite the aggression on McGrady's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
McGrady throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
McGrady throws a shot from downtown. Hasashi moves away and avoids it.
Hasashi with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McGrady to score with a decent uppercut.
McGrady ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hasashi bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps McGrady's head backwards.
McGrady ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Hasashi counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
McGrady has had enough of the clinch but Hasashi keeps him there for the moment.

Hasashi is trying to trip McGrady. He has hold of a leg but McGrady is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hasashi persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Hasashi advances position into side control!
A lull in the action here.
Hasashi is chipping away with strikes.
Hanzo Hasashi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hasashi has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for McGrady!
Hasashi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hasashi is in the full mount, landing strikes.
McGrady is desperately trying to improve his position but Hasashi has a good base and remains in mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hasashi content just to control the position here.

McGrady is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Hasashi.
Hasashi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hanzo Hasashi dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Hasashi darts in and clinches McGrady up against the cage.
McGrady is trying to break the clinch but Hasashi has him pressed against the cage.
McGrady prevents a takedown attempt there.
McGrady wants to break the clinch but can't.

McGrady is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hasashi is just too persistent for him and manages to trip McGrady to the mat. McGrady regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

McGrady is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Hasashi locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! McGrady is forced to tap!
