PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kruger Vance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Spectre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vance might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck. Dean Spectre acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kruger Vance!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dean Spectre!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Vance. That snapped Spectre's head back.
Vance feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Spectres jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Vance moves out of range as Spectre strikes.
Vance throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Spectre lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Spectre gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Spectre slips a jab from Vance.
Sloppy strikes from Vance. Those never looked like landing.
Vance lunges at Spectre with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Spectre's hand.
Vance connects with a looping right hand.
Vance loads up on a big right hand but Spectre slips the punch.
Vance steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Spectre.
Spectre avoids the body shot from Vance.
Vance will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vance wants to clinch.
Dean Spectre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A swing and a miss from Spectre.

Vance darts in and clinches Spectre up against the ropes.
Vance throws a head punch that misses.
Vance gets underhooks to prevent Spectre's takedown attempt.

Spectre ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Spectre no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Vance stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spectre swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Spectre can't keep his opponent in guard - Vance advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Vance content to control rather than advance.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Vance trying to control the action but Spectre is working from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spectre can do anything to dispel that myth.

Spectre is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vance pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Spectre looking for submissions off his back.
Well, if Vance is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Spectre is staying active underneath Vance, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Vance wants to free his trapped foot but Spectre is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Vance wants to take a breather but Spectre is having none of it.

Vance wants to lay and pray for a moment but Spectre keeps working.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Spectre throws out a loose jab but Vance uses good head movement to avoid it.

Vance cracks a nice hook into Spectre's ribs.

Spectre gets tackled into the ropes by Vance. Vance maintains the clinch.
Spectre tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Vance lands a nice uppercut.
Spectre is working for takedown but Vance is calmly controlling the position for now.
Kruger Vance has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Spectre.

Spectre is looking for a takedown.
Vance misses with a shot to the kidneys.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Vance lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Spectre backwards.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vance lands a right hand that snaps the head of Spectre backwards.
Spectre is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Spectre looks winded!
Spectre tries to pull guard but Vance holds him up against the ropes and eventually Spectre drops back down to his feet.
Vance lands an elbow inside that Spectre shrugs off.
Vance lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.


Spectre is rocked!

Vance drops Spectre onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Spectre is propped up by the ropes and works his way back to his feet!
Spectre is still on wobbly legs! Can Vance finish him?
Vance lands a big right hand that drops Spectre! The killer instinct kicks in and Vance finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Vance!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kruger Vance!
Kruger Vance tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
