Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Guresky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Sucre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fernando Sucre! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sucre tries to clinch but Guresky is having none of it. Sucre tries to close the distance and clinch but Guresky swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sucre tries to clinch but Guresky is having none of it. Sucre tries to close the distance and clinch up but Guresky swats him away and circles back towards the center. Guresky shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Sucre fails in his attempt to clinch. Guresky avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Sucre is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Sucre tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Guresky paws at him with a jab and circles away. The fight stays on the outside here - Sucre looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Guresky keeps the fight on the outside. Sucre tries to clinch but Guresky is having none of it. Guresky feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Guresky would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Guresky is breathing heavily. Sucre wants to stand but Guresky is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guresky throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sucre works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Sucre kicks Guresky off and gets to his feet. Guresky circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sucre tries to clinch up. Guresky shoots in looking for a takedown. Sucre tries to sprawl out of it but Guresky keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sucre manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sucre is looking to take this fight into the clinch. That's one minute gone in the round. Gureskyis looking to pass into half guard but Sucre pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Sucre is in guard. Guresky not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sucre wants to clinch but Guresky slips to the side and Guresky moves into the clinch. Guresky tries to pull guard but Sucre holds him up against the cage and eventually Guresky drops back down to his feet.

Sucre throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gureskys head. A body shot lands from Sucre.
Sucre lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Guresky backwards. Guresky looking for a takedown. A short uppercut from Sucre. Sucre with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Guresky tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sucre just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yuri Guresky. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sucre unloads a knee to the mid-section. Guresky lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Guresky managing to block the knees to the body from Sucre.
Sucre lands a body punch in the clinch. Sucre using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Guresky has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That's three minutes gone in the round. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sucre creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Sucre misses with the head strike.

Sucre is fighting off a takedown attempt but Guresky is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Sucre to the mat. Sucre regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Sucre wants to stand up but Guresky is controlling him. Sucre working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Guresky. Guresky postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guresky pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sucre is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Guresky is looking to advance position but Sucre has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Sucre get's back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yuri Guresky dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Sucre wants to get back to his feet but Guresky is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Sucre keeping full guard, as Guresky tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sucre wriggles free and stands up. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sucre tries to clinch and Guresky counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sucre! Guresky throwing strikes but Sucre uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Sucre kicks Guresky off and gets back to his feet. A nice inside leg kick there by Guresky. That's going to slow Sucre down. Sucre closes the distance and clinches. Guresky gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sucre avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Guresky trying to control the position from guard on top but Sucre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yuri Guresky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sucre is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Guresky is controlling him. Guresky tries to free his leg and advance position but Sucre is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sucre working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Guresky. Sucre wants to get back to his feet but Guresky is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Guresky looking to pass the guard. Guresky trying to control the position from guard on top but Sucre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

And that's the end of the fight! Yuri Guresky showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Guresky, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
