Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hector Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Blake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodriguez comes to the cage accompanied by Rage Against The Machine - Bulls On Parade. Blake comes into a darkened arena with his song building. blink 182 feeling this kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Sam Blake has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Blake!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Darius Henderson and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Rodriguez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rodriguez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Blake swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Blake tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rodriguez changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Blake shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rodriguez napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Rodriguez tries to buck Blake off but Blake is having none of it.
Blake throws an elbow but Rodriguez slips to the side and avoids it well.
Rodriguez is trying to get back to half guard.
Rodriguez manages to work his way to half guard, despite Blake's best efforts.
Ground and pound from Blake.
Rodriguez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Rodriguez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blake gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Blake lands a couple of elbows.

Rodriguez is rocked!

It looks like Hector Rodriguez has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rodriguez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blake gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rodriguez looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Rodriguez is working hard here to advance position.

Blake got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rodriguez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Blake has managed to get both his arms back between Rodriguez's legs - danger averted.
Rodriguez wants to sweep but no luck.
Blake works over Rodriguez with some ground and pound from guard.

Blake avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Rodriguez is breathing heavily.
Blake won't allow Rodriguez to sweep him here.
Blake keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rodriguez's head.
Blake is in close to Rodriguez's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Oh Rodriguez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rodriguez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rodriguez has momentary wrist control but Blake slips an elbow through the middle.

Rodriguez has his foot on Blake's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Blake works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rodriguez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Blake is aware though and is defending well.
Blake loads up on a big left hand. Rodriguez felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Blake looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Rodriguez can't hide his disappointment, as Blake celebrates the victory.
