Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dario Verovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Psycho. Dario Verovic is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dario Verovic!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verovic rushes Smith and presses him up against the cage.
Smith is trying to pull guard but Verovic turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Verovic misses with a hook from the clinch.
Verovic lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Verovic lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Smith pulls guard effortlessly.
Verovic throwing strikes from guard but Smith blocks nicely.
Verovic throwing strikes but missing.
Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.
Verovic working some strikes from top position.
Smith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Smith is looking for a kimura but Verovic is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smith to get the leverage.
Smith winds up and cracks Verovic with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Verovic is trying to get back to full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Verovic with the active half guard here but Smith passes nicely into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith working the ground and pound from side control.
Smith is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Verovic's shoulder. That is not cool.
Verovic is looking to reverse the position.
Smith advances nicely into full mount.
Smith lands a couple of good shots and Verovic has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Verovic tries to escape but Smith has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Smith is punishing Verovic with strikes - can he finish him?!
Smith scores with punches and elbows.
Smith has the hooks in. Verovic is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Verovic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Smith is landing with strikes. Verovic can't take much more of this.

Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A relieved looking Jake Smith thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
