6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Emil Jagerkokov! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jagerkokov shoots in for a takedown but Gomez shows good takedown defense. Jagerkokov shoots in for a takedown but Gomez shows good takedown defense. It looked like Gomez was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Tito Gomez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. A left and a right from Gomez both land. Nice combination. Gomez throws a leg kick but Jagerkokov moved away. Jagerkokov looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's one minute gone in the round. A lazy left from Gomez finds it's target. Jagerkokov shoots in for a takedown but Gomez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jagerkokov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Gomez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jagerkokov. It seemed like Jagerkokov was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Jagerkokov gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Gomez. Gomez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jagerkokov. Gomez tries to bum rush Jagerkokov with a series of wild strikes but Jagerkokov uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jagerkokov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gomez but Gomez pushes him off and we're back to square one. Gomez keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Nice shot by Gomez. Jagerkokov closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gomez's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jagerkokov sitting in guard, not really doing much. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Jagerkokov throwing strikes here but Gomez is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Jagerkokov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gomez is looking to escape. Gomez sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Gomez looks like he's trying to stand up.
Gomez is looking for a sweep. Jagerkokov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Jagerkokov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gomez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Gomez tries to kick Jagerkokov off but Jagerkokov keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Jagerkokov trying to control the action but Gomez is working from the bottom. Jagerkokov is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Gomez! Jagerkokov trying to control but he's not successful this time. Gomez bucks Jagerkokov off and manages to get back to his feet! Jagerkokov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gomez sees that one coming and sprawls well. Jagerkokov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gomez. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jagerkokov shoots in for a double leg but Gomez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jagerkokov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gomez as he jumps to the side. Gomez is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Jagerkokov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. Jagerkokov is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Gomez is forced to tap! Great finish!
