The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manning shoots in looking for a takedown but Berillio manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Manning's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Berillio feints and as Manning raises his hands in defense, Berillio changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Berillio is standing up over Manning. Manning looks to escape but Berillio dives into side control.

The referee asks Berillio politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Berillio prefers to stall for the moment though.

Berillio wants to control but Manning is keeping him busy.
Berillio remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Let's hope that Berillio has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Berillio goes for a double leg but Manning avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Manning continues to drive forward.

Berillio shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Manning sprawls well. Manning wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Berillio gets slowly back to his feet.
