Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerome Hoss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Vitor Belfort has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vitor Belfort! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jerome Hoss! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoss avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hoss decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Hoss seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Belfort does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Belfort slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Belfort might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hoss wants to control from the top but Belfort keeps moving. Hoss advances to half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hoss lands a nice short elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoss prevents Belfort from standing back up.
Belfort is trying to get back to full guard. Hoss perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Hoss tries to pass to full mount but Belfort defends it. Belfort blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hoss. Hoss wants to work for an arm triangle but Belfort is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Belfort is trying to get back to full guard. Hoss wants to stand up but Belfort has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Belfort will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hoss is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Belfort misses with a few strikes there.
Belfort fails in his attempt to clinch. Belfort is breathing heavily. Belfort fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hoss throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Vitor Belfort has been cut. Hoss shoots in for a double leg but Belfort sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Belfort tries to clinch there but Hoss circles away.
Vitor Belfort seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Belfort wants to clinch. Hoss throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Belfort's waist but Belfort gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hoss off to one side. Belfort is looking to clinch but Hoss is avoiding it.

No luck for Hoss with that takedown attempt. Vitor Belfort has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jerome Hoss. Belfort throws a combination that misses and Hoss counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Hoss tries to pull guard but Belfort holds him up against the cage and eventually Hoss drops back down to his feet.

Hoss prevents Belfort from breaking the clinch. Nice body punch from Belfort. Belfort has had enough of the clinch but Hoss keeps him there for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hoss escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Belfort tries to clinch but Hoss moves away and Hoss counters with a shoot takedown. Belfort fights it but they end up in guard. Hoss stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Belfort swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hoss works a leg free and moves into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Belfort avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hoss. Hoss wants to control but Belfort is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Belfort wants to control but Hoss is keeping busy and won't allow it. Belfort is trying to stand up here but Hoss is controlling him well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hoss clinches. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Hoss scores with an uppercut up the middle. Belfort lands with a right to the head. Hoss escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hoss forces Belfort back against the cage and clinches. Belfort wants to get back to striking at distance but Hoss won't allow it.
Hoss keeps control of Belfort as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Belfort pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Hoss will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Belfort throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hoss. Hoss shoots in and bounces Belfort off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Belfort scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hoss closes the distance and clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belfort drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hoss pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hoss listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Hoss shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hoss rushes Belfort and presses him up against the cage. Belfort wants to break the clinch but can't.

Hoss is looking to take a break and control but Belfort is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hoss works his way into full mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoss throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Belfort because Hoss loaded up on that one. Hoss can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Belfort is looking to escape. Hoss scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Belfort?

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Belfort is trying desperately to improve position. Belfort is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Jerome Hoss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Vitor Belfort's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
A punch combination from Belfort misses. Hoss fails with a takedown attempt. Belfort closes the distance but Hoss moves to the side and Hoss counters with an inside leg kick. Hoss thows a body shot but no joy. Belfort tries to clinch but Hoss moves away and Hoss counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Belfort wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Hoss passes into half guard. Belfort is looking to control Hoss's leg but it's slowly edging free. Belfort rushes Hoss and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Belfort is pressed up against the cage. Hoss has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Belfort down to the mat. Belfort avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Belfort looks to clinch and Hoss counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Hoss stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Belfort swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hoss works a leg free and moves into half guard. Hoss seems to be looking for submissions.
Hoss seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Hoss might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Belfort kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Hoss looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Belfort is trying to stand back up but Hoss is controlling him

and Hoss counters with a head kick. That will keep Belfort thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Belfort darts in and clinches Hoss up against the cage. Belfort can't break the clinch.

Jerome Hoss is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Belfort working for a triangle but Hoss defends it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Jerome Hoss comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hoss has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
