Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cleveland Byrd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Krokup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Krokup has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cleveland Byrd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel Krokup! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Krokup gets the takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Krokup controlling the position. Byrd tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Krokup wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Krokup tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Byrd gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Byrd moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Krokup would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Byrd avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Krokup is stalling in the full guard. Byrd keeping moving, preventing Krokup from controlling successfully. Krokup tries to stand but Byrd is controlling from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Krokup shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Byrd manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Byrd manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Krokup lands a takedown into guard.
Krokup is looking to pass into half guard but Byrd pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Byrd is in guard.
Byrd really is a fat lump. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Krokup avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Byrd accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Byrd is stalling in the full guard. Krokup keeping moving, preventing Byrd from controlling successfully. Krokup has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Byrd has passed into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Byrd working the strikes but Krokup uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Krokup is trying to stand up here but Byrd is controlling him well. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Byrd lands a nice short elbow. Krokup has hold of Byrd's hands but Byrd slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Krokup is trying to control but Byrd passes into side control!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Krokup managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Byrd.
Byrd throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Byrd working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Byrd is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Krokup is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Krokup is trying to control Byrd's posture but Byrd avoids it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cleveland Byrd dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Krokup gets a clinch. Krokup wants the takedown. Byrd is fighting it off but Krokup persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Byrd's guard against the cage. Krokup wants to get up but he can't break Byrd's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Byrd looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Krokup is looking to stand up but Byrd won't let him. Krokup controlling from the top position. Krokup trying to control but Byrd is working from the bottom.

Krokup working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Byrd doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Byrd manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Krokup is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Byrd is aware though and is defending well. Byrd postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Krokup can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Byrd controls the pace. Krokup wants to sweep here but Byrd controlling him for the moment. Byrd looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Byrd preventing the sweep. Krokup not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Krokup is breathing heavily. Krokup has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Byrd can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Byrd works over Krokup with some ground and pound from guard. Krokup controls Byrd momentarily but Byrd frees himself. Byrd working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Krokup avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Byrd is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Krokup can do to turn this around? Krokup fails in his attempt to clinch. Byrd seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Byrd forces Krokup back against the cage and clinches. Krokup ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Krokup no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Byrd content to stall in guard here. Byrd seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Krokup for as long as he can get away with. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Byrd preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Cleveland Byrd will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Byrd controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Byrd working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Byrd gets caught flat footed, as Krokup shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Byrd manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Krokup tightens his grip and picks Byrd up, before dumping him to the ground. Byrd manages to land in guard. Byrd has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Krokup off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Krokup closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Byrd did well to prevent Krokup getting side control. Byrd tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Krokup manages to move to mount!
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Byrd tries to hold on but Krokup postures up. Krokup sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Krokup has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Krokup trying to control but he's not successful this time. Byrd is trying to stand up. Krokup controlling his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Krokup tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Byrd tries to hold on but Krokup pushes him away. Krokup wants to control the pace but Byrd is squirming around nicely. Byrd is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Krokup trying to control but he's not successful this time. Daniel Krokup has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cleveland Byrd is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Krokup jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Byrd manages to avoid the submission attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cleveland Byrd. Well Byrd has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
