1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kyle Taylor! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kick! Kick manages to regain half guard. Good work. Kick keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Taylor trying to control the pace. Kick is trying to stand back up but Taylor is controlling him
Taylor with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Kick looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Taylor keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taylor trying to control from half guard but Kick is working away. Taylor seems to be working for a kimura but Kick defends the submission attempt. Taylor scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Taylor missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Kick is looking to improve his position.
Taylor has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Taylor controlling the pace for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Taylor looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Taylor looking for a guillotine from mount but Kick is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taylor is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Kick is forced to tap! Great finish!
