Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marcel Mandic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcel Mandic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Wells!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Wells finds it's way through Mandic's defenses.
Wells scores with the left hand. Mandic knows he should have avoided that one.
Mandic lands a high kick to the side of Wells's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Mandic dives into guard, looking to finish.


Wells is rocked!


It looks like Ryan Wells has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mandic is fighting to break Wells's control of his arms but Wells is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Wells is still in real trouble! Can Mandic finish him?
Wells manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mandic manages to get himself to full guard.
Wells seems to have recovered his senses.
Mandic really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mandic wants to get back to his feet but Wells is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Wells not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Let's hope that Wells has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

I looks like Wells might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Despite being in the dominant position, Ryan Wells just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wells avoids the head kick by Mandic.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wells slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Wells rushes Mandic and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Wells breaks the clinch.
Marcel Mandic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Mandic throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Wells clinches.
Wells scores with a shoulder strike.
Wells lands a hook that snaps the head of Mandic backwards.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Wells.
Still in the clinch, Wells scores with a nice short uppercut.

Wells's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mandic misses with a head kick.
Mandic misses with an uppercut.
Mandic is breathing heavily.

Wells gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Wells makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Mandic wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mandic wants to break free but Wells has control.

Wells ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Wells no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Wells has his hands on Mandic's head, controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcel Mandic will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Mandic misses with a double jab.
Mandic throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wells.

Wells fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mandic, pushing him back against the cage.
Mandic wants to break free but Wells has control.

Wells pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Wells instigates a clinch.
Wells lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Mandic wants to break the clinch but can't.
Wells lands a right hand that snaps the head of Mandic backwards.
Wells lands with a left to the head.
Wells digs a right hand into Mandic's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Mandic's gas tank.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Wells.
Wells tries to land a knee to the head but Mandic blocks with his arms.
Wells scores with a shot to the side of Mandic's head.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wells lands a hook to the side of the head.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Wells creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Wells manages to break the clinch.

Wells lands a left hand.
A hook to the body from Wells.
Wells lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mandic backwards.


Mandic is rocked!

Wells has Mandic pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Wells pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mandic tumbling to the mat - Wells dives into Mandic's guard.
Wells controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Wells slips nicely into half guard.

Mandic knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wells on the ground.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Wells lands strikes from half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wells slips a nice elbow through Mandic's hands, connecting with Mandic's forehead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Wells showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Wells clinches up with Mandic and pushes him back against the cage.
Mandic can't break the clinch.

Wells manages to pull guard.
Wells has Mandic pulled in close to control his posture.
Wells manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Wells takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Wells gets through Mandic's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Wells lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Mandic backwards.
A nice left hand lands by Wells.
Wells scores with a shot to the side of Mandic's head.
Wells lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Mandic backwards.

Wells pushes Mandic back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Oh Mandic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wells lands with a right to the head.
Wells lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Mandic to his knees! Wells keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
