PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Giuseppe Whitehead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Kshymensky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Giuseppe Whitehead!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesse Kshymensky!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kshymensky tries a head kick but it misses.

Kshymensky drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Whitehead really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Whitehead has his feet on Kshymensky's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Kshymensky throws a sloppy head kick and Whitehead moves out of range easily.
Kshymensky tries to close the distance and clinch up but Whitehead swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kshymensky throws a leg kick which misses Whitehead's front leg but catches the back leg as Whitehead tries to avoid it.
Whitehead misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Whitehead misses with a low kick.
Whitehead slips a jab and a cross from Kshymensky.
Kshymensky moves out of range as Whitehead throws a body kick.

Kshymensky looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Whitehead!

Whitehead bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kshymensky fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kshymensky swats away the attempt to clinch by Whitehead.
Whitehead tries to clinch but Kshymensky is having none of it.
A combination from Whitehead does no damage.

Kshymensky shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Kshymensky tries to pass to full mount but Whitehead defends it.
Kshymensky seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Whitehead does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kshymensky is looking to pass Whitehead's guard but actually Whitehead recovers to full guard.
Whitehead will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kshymensky looks winded!

Whitehead looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Whitehead is trying to keep Kshymensky in close.
Kshymensky wants to pass the guard but Whitehead is keeping the position.
Kshymensky prevents Whitehead from getting back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Whitehead is striking off his back. Kshymensky thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.

Whitehead kicks off Kshymensky and gets to his feet.
Whitehead tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kshymensky was well out of range. Poor timing from Whitehead.
Kshymensky closes the distance but Whitehead moves to the side

and Whitehead counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Whitehead is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kshymensky is just riding it out for now. Whitehead eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Whitehead is working for a kimura but Kshymensky is defending it quite comfortably.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Whitehead is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are battling for position here. Kshymensky manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Giuseppe Whitehead dominated that round.
That's time! Whitehead's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Kshymensky throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Whitehead was covering up waiting for the punch and Kshymensky finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Kshymensky is sitting in close to Whitehead's body. Whitehead has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Kshymensky is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Kshymensky is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Whitehead.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Giuseppe Whitehead!
