Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ezra Mcfadden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Phill Adams!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mcfadden paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mcfadden moves into range and clinches up with Adams.
Mcfadden wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Adams has him pressed against the cage.
Mcfadden wants to get back to striking at distance but Adams won't allow it.
Mcfadden has had enough of the clinch but Adams keeps him there for the moment.

Adams manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcfadden throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Adams works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Adams keeping moving, preventing Mcfadden from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Adams working for a triangle but Mcfadden defends it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Adams is on top in guard.


Adams stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Adams shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Adams was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Mcfadden sneaks out the side door and pushes Adams away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Mcfadden really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Adams lands a body shot.

Adams has hold of one of Mcfadden's legs. Mcfadden is fighting the takedown attempt but Adams gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Adams wants to stand but Mcfadden is controlling his posture from full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Adams bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Adams is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

A close round but Phill Adams will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Mcfadden tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mcfadden throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Adams gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Mcfadden regains guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mcfadden holds on and takes a little breather.
Adams has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mcfadden is proving hard to escape from.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Adams content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Adams leaves Mcfadden with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Mcfadden tries to sprawl but Adams drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Mcfadden is holding on to half guard well.
Mcfadden moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Adams gets to his feet - Mcfadden follows without any prompting.

Adams closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Adams is breathing heavily.

Mcfadden is looking to regain half guard here but Adams keeps moving and retains side control.
Mcfadden is not content to let Adams control the position.
Mcfadden tries to buck Adams off but Adams is having none of it.
Adams misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Phill Adams has got the better of the ground game so far.

Adams goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mcfadden rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Adams's guard! Nice work there by Mcfadden!

Mcfadden drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Adams dives on top into guard.

Phill Adams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Mcfadden's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Mcfadden takes the fight into the clinch.

Mcfadden is fighting off a takedown attempt but Adams is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mcfadden to the mat. Mcfadden regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Adams wants to control from the top but Mcfadden keeps moving.
Mcfadden is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mcfadden is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Adams doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mcfadden.

Adams looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Adams has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mcfadden is working away from the top position though.

Adams looking for a kimura from the bottom but Mcfadden passes into side control!
Mcfadden will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Adams takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Adams regains half guard there - taking advantage of Mcfadden's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Mcfadden is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mcfadden looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Adams is staying active underneath Mcfadden, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Mcfadden looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Mcfadden has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Adams's face.
Adams is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Mcfadden looking to control but Adams is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Mcfadden has control of Adams's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Adams regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ezra Mcfadden showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Adams has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
