Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barry Lawrence (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen Psycho as his entrance music. Jake Smith will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Barry Lawrence! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Smith! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Francis DeMontford and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lawrence manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Smith is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lawrence is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lawrence has escaped and now he's on top! Lawrence slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith trying to keep a closed guard but Lawrence is proving a slippery customer.
Lawrence might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lawrence chips away with some ground and pound. Smith wants to stand up but Lawrence is controlling him. Smith is trying to control the position but Lawrence postures up. Lawrence really is a fat lump. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith has a closed guard, preventing Lawrence from standing up. Smith is adopting a defensive guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Smith gets the takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Smith tries to move to mount but Lawrence blocks the move with his legs. Lawrence regains half guard there - taking advantage of Smith's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Lawrence tries to get to full guard but Smith has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Lawrence looks like he's trying to stand up.
Smith is figuring out what he wants to do next. Lawrence is trying to get back to full guard. Smith content to control rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Smith stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Lawrence to get to his feet. Lawrence lands with a hook. Smith tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into Lawrence's guard. Lawrence is wriggling around but Smith manages to pass to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Lawrence is refusing to be controlled, as Smith sits in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jake Smith will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Smith throws a body kick, spinning off balance so Lawrence counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Smith manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Lawrence drags the fight down to the ground.
Smith sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lawrence's guard. Smith is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Smith passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lawrence! Lawrence wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith controlling his opponent. Smith lands a big elbow. Smith avoids the attempt from Lawrence to control. Smith sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Smith scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lawrence's face.
It looks like Barry Lawrence has been cut. Smith loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Lawrence scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Smith land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Smith stands and salutes the crowd.
