Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Cronos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colt McLaren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cronos's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Sandstorm. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
30 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jose Cronos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Colt McLaren! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McLaren looks to clinch and Cronos counters with a straight right hand. McLaren throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cronos looks to throw the jab but McLaren is out of range. Cronos closes the distance and clinches up with McLaren, looking for a takedown. Cronos pushes McLaren against the cage but McLaren circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cronos swats away the attempt to clinch by McLaren. McLaren thuds his right hand into Cronos's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. McLaren rushes Cronos and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. McLaren throws a punch but it's blocked by Cronos. McLaren has a couple of punches blocked by Cronos.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cronos looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. McLaren lands a hook to the side of the head. McLaren lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Cronos tries to break the clinch but McLaren is controlling the position. McLaren misses with a punch on the inside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cronos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Colt McLaren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cronos just misses with a punch to the body.
McLaren shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Cronos pushes McLaren off and gets back to his feet. Cronos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McLaren circles away quickly and effectively. McLaren throws a jab but it's blocked by Cronos. McLaren swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cronos feinted with a counter takedown. McLaren fails with a takedown attempt from distance. McLaren tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cronos swats him away and circles back towards the center. This has been an exciting period of action! Sloppy strikes from Cronos. Those never looked like landing. Cronos fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. McLaren shoots in but no luck this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A momentary lapse in concentration from Cronos enables McLaren to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cronos manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw McLaren working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. McLaren being controlled here momentarily. Cronos wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and McLaren is now in half guard. McLaren not doing much here.
McLaren wants to take a breather but Cronos is having none of it. McLaren passes to side control. Cronos tries to escape back to his feet but McLaren has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Cronos's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Cronos is tapping! McLaren saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Colt McLaren! A relieved looking Colt McLaren thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. Jose Cronos was interviewed post fight and said 'Sorry everyone, the better man won tonight. I'll be back.'.
