Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Matielli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Junior Matielli! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Matielli shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lesnar as he avoids it easily. Matielli closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Matielli lands in his opponent's guard. Lesnar has his foot on Matielli's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Matielli works his way back into a safe position though. Matielli trying to control the position from guard on top but Lesnar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lesnar looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lesnar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Matielli doesn't manage to clinch there - Lesnar circles away.
Lesnar fails with the takedown and Lesnar takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Lesnar shoots in for a takedown but Matielli shows good takedown defense. Matielli tries a head kick but it misses.
Matielli shoots in and bounces Lesnar off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lesnar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Matielli gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matielli moves in looking to clinch but Lesnar pushes him off. Nice body kick from Matielli. Matielli thuds his shin into the meat of Lesnar's side. Lesnar with a lazy takedown attempt so Matielli counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Matielli should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Lesnar has an active guard here but Matielli has managed to pass into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lesnar keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Lesnar is staying active underneath Matielli, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lesnar looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Matielli decides to return to a standing position. Matielli feints and then cracks Lesnar's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lesnar down. Matielli misses with a head kick.
Lesnar shoots and misses and Matielli counters with a takedown into side control. Lesnar gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Lesnar looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Lesnar makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lesnar.

Lesnar had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Matielli is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Lesnar Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Matielli's back instead. Lesnar has got his arm under Matielli's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Matielli has spun round into Lesnar's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lesnar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Matielli can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lesnar throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Matielli would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Lesnar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Matielli doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Matielli manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Junior Matielli showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Lesnar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Matielli will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Lesnar drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Lesnar seems to have locked his on tight now - Matielli screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Lesnar, as he picks up the win!
