Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kingsley Babajide! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gerald Minor! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Minor keeps the fight on the outside. Babajide is looking to clinch. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Minor, as that shot connected.
Babajide takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Babajide is looking to clinch but Minor is avoiding it.
Minor is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Babajide moves in looking to clinch but Minor pushes him off. Minor tries to keep at a distance but Babajide has taken the fight into the clinch. Minor makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Babajide lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Minor backwards. Minor is struggling to control the position. Minor controlling the action here for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Minor is looking to take this one to the mat. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Minor takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Minor is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
That's one minute gone in the round. Babajide's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
It looks like Kingsley Babajide has been cut. Minor tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Babajide just stands there and leans against the cage. Babajide prevents a takedown attempt there.
Minor looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Kingsley Babajide has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gerald Minor. Babajide is trying to force a seperation but Minor has the dominant position. Minor has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Babajide uses from the top position. Minor wants to sweep here but Babajide controlling him for the moment. Minor is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Minor seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Minor drops an elbow to the side of Babajide's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Babajide is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Minor pulls his head out easily. Minor is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Minor prevents Babajide from standing back up.

Babajide actively working from the bottom here. Babajide has hold of Minor's hands but Minor slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Minor looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Babajide with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Minor works his way into full mount! Minor landing strikes, looking to finish! Minor landing shots from mount. Babajide tries to get back to half guard but can't. Minor landing punches. Babajide swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Minor landing punches. Minor landing shots from mount. Babajide is trying desperately to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Babajide throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Babajide is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Minor is trying to control here but Babajide has managed to regain half guard.
Minor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Babajide keeps working. Babajide punching from the bottom.
Minor trying to mount his opponent but Babajide defends it. Minor working over Babajide with some ground and pound. Babajide looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gerald Minor dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kingsley Babajide's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Minor scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Babajide tries to clinch up but Minor circles away and keeps his distance. Babajide tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Minor manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Good leg kick by Minor there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Babajide moves into the clinch. Babajide pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Babajide fails in his attempt to clinch. Babajide moves in looking to clinch but Minor pushes him off. Kingsley Babajide seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Babajide wants to clinch but Minor slips to the side and Minor counters with a takedown into side control. Babajide tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Minor with a couple of short strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Minor cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Minor putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Babajide bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
That's one minute gone in the round. Minor is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Babajide trying to control but Minor is working from the bottom. Minor looking to hit a scissor sweep but Babajide is one step ahead there. Minor working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Babajide. Gerald Minor has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Minor is pulling down on Babajide's head to control his posture. Minor throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Babajide has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Babajide loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Minor is pulling down on Babajide's head. It's preventing any offense from Babajide, at least for the moment. Babajide is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Minor has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Babajide is looking to defend but Minor has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Babajide! Minor pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Babajide taps out and this one is all over!
