Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Denmark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demetrius Soares Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Soares Silva has chosen Misfits - American Psycho as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thomas Denmark! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Demetrius Soares Silva! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Denmark stuffs the takedown attempt from Soares Silva. Soares Silva gets slowly back to his feet. Denmark tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Soares Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away. Soares Silva blocks a head kick by Denmark.
Soares Silva fails with the takedown. Denmark shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Denmark is working for a kimura but Soares Silva is defending it quite comfortably.
Soares Silva moves into full guard.
Denmark controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Soares Silva working a defensive guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Denmark trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Soares Silva can't keep his opponent in guard - Denmark advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Denmark thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Denmark is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Soares Silva is looking for a sweep. Denmark is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Denmark trying to control the action but Soares Silva is working from the bottom. Denmark is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Soares Silva is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Denmark's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Denmark's back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Soares Silva keeps control of the position as Denmark tries to break free.
Denmark breaks Soares Silva's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Denmark works a leg free and moves into half guard. Denmark trying to pass the guard but Soares Silva defending well. Denmark is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Denmark is breathing heavily. Denmark is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Soares Silva taking some punishment here, with Denmark in his half guard. Soares Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Denmark is working away from the top position though. Soares Silva landing small, sideways elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soares Silva looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Soares Silva wants to improve his position but Denmark is controlling well.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Denmark fails with an attempt to clinch.
Soares Silva darts in trying to clinch and Denmark counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Denmark forces Soares Silva back against the cage and clinches. Denmark stalling the fight.
Denmark breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Denmark closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Soares Silva to the mat! Soares Silva manages to get full guard. Denmark trying to control the position from guard on top but Soares Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Denmark thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Denmark advances position into side control! Denmark throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Soares Silva works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Denmark works his foot free and advances to mount. Denmark working for a guillotine from mount but Soares Silva is in no mood to give up. Denmark wants to control the action but instead Soares Silva gets a body lock and reverses into Denmark's guard! Nice work! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Denmark will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Soares Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown and Denmark counters by moving into the clinch. Denmark breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Soares Silva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Thomas Denmark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Soares Silva tries to clinch and Denmark counters with a nice double leg into side control. Soares Silva won't be happy with that. Soares Silva struggling a bit here. Denmark wants to control but Soares Silva is keeping him busy. Soares Silva taking punishment in the form of punches.
Denmark tries to score with some ground and pound. Soares Silva controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Denmark scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Soares Silva to see if he's OK. Denmark working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soares Silva on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Soares Silva is looking for a sweep. Soares Silva wants to control but Denmark postures up. Denmark tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Denmark has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Soares Silva prevents Denmark from moving into mount. Soares Silva takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Soares Silva is looking for a sweep. Denmark passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Soares Silva! Denmark dominating with strikes here. BOOM! Denmark connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Denmark looking to control but Soares Silva is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Denmark lands with some strikes. Denmark is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Denmark!
