Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Woodie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Collins! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Woodie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Collins's waist but Collins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Woodie off to one side. Woodie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Collins looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Woodie works to advance to full mount. Collins defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Woodie pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Woodie manages to capitalize on a mistake by Collins to take his back! Woodie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Collins manages to reverse the position and now he's in Woodie's guard. Nice work there by Collins.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Collins wants to pass the guard but Woodie is keeping the position. Woodie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Collins manages to get himself to full guard.
Woodie in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Woodie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Collins trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Collins trying to control the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Collins can do anything to dispel that myth. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Woodie's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Collins keeping moving, preventing Woodie from controlling successfully. Collins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Collins will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Collins misses with a takedown and Woodie counters with an inside leg kick. Collins looks gassed! Woodie has taken the fight to the clinch.
Woodie has Collins pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Collins manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Collins is pressed up against the cage. Woodie has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Collins down to the mat. Collins avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Collins closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Woodie is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Collins pulls his head out easily. Collins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Woodie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Collins is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Woodie is just riding it out for now. Collins eventually gives up the hold. Woodie trying to control here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Collins connects with a nice short shot to Woodie's temple. Woodie tries to get to full guard but Collins has control of the leg. Collins working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Collins is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Woodie is just riding it out for now. Collins eventually gives up the hold. Woodie wants to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Collins is looking to clinch. Collins looks to land a combination but Woodie avoids it well. Collins misses with a kick to the body and Woodie counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Woodie wants to control but Collins is keeping him busy. Woodie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Collins wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Woodie is looking to advance position but Collins won't allow it.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Collins stands up from Woodie's guard - Collins perhaps looking for a knockout. Collins misses with a jab to the body
and Woodie counters with a nice double leg into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Woodie fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Collins sprawls well initially but Woodie persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Collins trying to hold on to Woodie's head to control him but Woodie postures up.
Woodie decides to stand up. Woodie tries for a takedown but Collins circles away easily and Collins counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Danga de danga de dang - Collins scores with a four punch combination! Woodie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nice cross by Collins. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Collins with a poor takedown and Woodie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Collins won't be happy with that. Woodie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Collins has escaped the position, nice work there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Collins is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Woodie's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Collins gets full guard. Woodie decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Collins misses with a body kick. Collins is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Rob Collins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Collins misses with a double jab.

Collins tries to stand but Woodie is controlling from the bottom. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Woodie is on top in guard.

A combination from Collins does no damage. Rob Collins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Woodie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Woodie advances position into side control! Woodie in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Collins is trying to get back to half guard. Collins bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Collins thows a left - swing and a miss! Collins gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Woodie counters with a takedown into side control. Collins throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Woodie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Woodie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Woodie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Collins is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Woodie tries to move into full mount but can't pass Collins's legs. Collins gets back to half guard. Woodie trying to pass the guard but Collins defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Collins slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Collins is trying to keep Woodie in close.
Woodie keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Collins's head. Woodie preventing the sweep. Woodie drops back looking for a leg! Collins is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Collins manages to kick Woodie off! Woodie jumps back into Collins's guard. Collins keeping moving, preventing Woodie from controlling successfully. Woodie is working Collins over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Jeremy Woodie is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Collins swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Collins is trying desperately to improve position. Collins tries to lock up and control but Woodie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. And that's the end of the fight! Jeremy Woodie showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Woodie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
