Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Benito Rowland! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Angel Angelov! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Angelov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rowland napping and manages to drive through into side control! Rowland might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Angelov moves into full mount! Angelov wants to take Rowland's back here but Rowland is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Rowland knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Angelov on the ground. Rowland really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rowland is squirming around, avoiding Angelov's attempts to control the action. Angelov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Rowland tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Rowland is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Angelov prevents Rowland from getting the reversal. Rowland drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Angelov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rowland has Angelov in his guard.

Rowland pulls Angelov in close to prevent any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rowland gets caught flat footed, as Angelov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Rowland managing to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rowland not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Rowland sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Angelov wants to work for an arm triangle but Rowland is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rowland really is a fat lump. Rowland desperately trying to maintain half guard. Rowland is staying active underneath Angelov, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The fighters are battling for position here. Rowland manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Rowland throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Angelov tries to counter by closing the distance. Angelov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Angelov tries to pass to full mount but Rowland defends it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Angelov wants to take a breather but Rowland is having none of it. Rowland keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Rowland is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Angelov controlling the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Angelov tries to close the distance and clinch but Rowland swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Angelov displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rowland. Angelov tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. A jab from Rowland misses. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Angelov gets a double leg takedown into Rowland's guard. Angel Angelov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Angelov swats away the attempt to clinch by Rowland. Angelov darts in and clinches Rowland up against the cage. Angelov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Rowland gets to his feet - Angelov follows without any prompting. Angelov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rowland misses with a head kick.

Angelov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. He's being very persistent here but Rowland manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Benito Rowland has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Angel Angelov is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Rowland trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Benito Rowland. I think Angelov has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
