Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Everett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Calina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Everett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rich Calina! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Calina manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Everett on his heels. He'll look to pass Everett's guard now, I'm sure. Calina postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Everett is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Calina, into his guard. Everett throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Everett has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Calina managing to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Everett is looking to advance position but Calina has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Calina wants to control the pace but Everett is squirming around nicely. Everett knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Calina on the ground. Everett tries to hold on but Calina pushes him away. Calina looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Everett can't escape the position.
Calina working for a guillotine from mount but Everett is in no mood to give up. Calina looking to control but Everett is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calina goes for an armbar but Everett turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Everett. Calina working a defensive guard here.
Everett's corner is telling him to maintain position. Calina avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Calina working for a triangle but Everett defends it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Calina keeping moving, preventing Everett from controlling successfully. Calina trying to control the position.
Everett stopping the sweep attempt from Calina. Calina is pulling down on Everett's head to control his posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Calina avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Calina lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Calina lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Everett could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Calina trying to control but Everett is working from the bottom. Calina scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Calina landing some decent shots from guard. Everett can't keep his opponent in guard - Calina advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rich Calina dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Calina shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Everett napping and manages to drive through into side control! Everett is not content to let Calina control the position. Everett is working to avoid the ground and pound but Calina connects with a decent elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Calina tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Calina has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Calina lands a few punches from side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Everett is working to avoid the ground and pound but Calina connects with a decent elbow. Calina thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Everett taking a bit of punishment here - Calina scoring with strikes. You can see the frustration on Everett's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Everett wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Everett takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Calina is looking to take a break and control but Everett is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Calina is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Everett is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calina looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Calina trying to control the position but Everett is working away. Calina in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Everett tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Everett taking shots to the head. BOOM! Calina connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Everett is rocked!
It looks like Jason Everett has been cut. Calina lands with some strikes. Oh Everett is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Calina takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. A big strike lands for Calina! That's really hurt Everett and he's turned his back - Calina keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Calina jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rich Calina!
