Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Damron Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Jim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jim Jim has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Damron Davidson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damron Davidson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Jim!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davidson tries to clinch but Jim is having none of it.

Jim shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jim showed some decent athleticism there.

Jim is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Davidson is just riding it out for now. Jim eventually gives up the hold.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Jim working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Jim is working for a submission of some sort.

Jim is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davidson works his way to full guard. Good work.

Jim is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Davidson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Davidson has escaped and now he's on top!

Davidson swings around for an armbar but Jim sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Davidson's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jim drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Davidson dives on top into guard.

Davidson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jim's head.
Davidson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jim swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Davidson wants to stand and escape but instead Jim has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.


Jim postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Davidson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jim, into his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davidson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jim looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jim looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jim!

Jim goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Davidson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jim but great work by Davidson.

Davidson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jim has escaped the position, nice work there.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Davidson is trying to get an arm triangle but Jim is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Damron Davidson dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jim is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Davidson maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Jim could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Davidson has cracked it and Jim is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Davidson!
