PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jon Leer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kent Brockman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kent Brockman was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Leer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kent Brockman!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Joseph Jones and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brockman tries to clinch there but Leer circles away.
As Brockman tries to get set, Leer tries to push him back and clinch up but Brockman manages to avoid the attempt.
Brockman tries to clinch but Leer moves out of range.

Brockman gets caught flat footed, as Leer shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Brockman striking off his back but it's not causing Leer any problems.
Leer stopping the sweep attempt from Brockman.
Brockman throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Brockman doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brockman can do anything to dispel that myth.

Leer gets to his feet. Brockman looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

I really don't envy Brockman right now.
Brockman is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Leer is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Brockman prevents Leer from getting a body triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leer controlling well, preventing Brockman from escaping the position.

Oh Leer is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Brockman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Brockman gets to his feet and stands over Leer, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Leer felt that one! Brockman unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Leer from any more punishment!
