The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Headden feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hero is wriggling around but Headden manages to pass to half guard.
Hero looking for submissions off his back.
Hero regains full guard. Nicely done.
Hero is controlling Headden's posture.
Headden has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hero utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hero has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Headden doesn't defend quickly enough and Hero has managed to lock this one up! Can Headden escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Hero on a fantastic submission victory.
