Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Elvis Glass! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Please Stay! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Glass looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Stay has a closed guard, preventing Glass from standing up. Glass lands a couple of elbows. Glass postures up in Stay's guard and throws a big left but Stay blocks it. Glass is stalling in the full guard. Glass's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Glass would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Glass is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Stay is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Stay has escaped and now he's on top!
That's one minute gone in the round. Stay stops Glass from standing up. Stay drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Glass manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Stay has Glass in his guard. Glass wants to stand but Stay is controlling his posture from full guard. Glass throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stay works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Stay is looking for a triangle but Glass pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Glass is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Glass wanted to stand there but Stay had control of the position. Glass is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Glass got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stay has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Glass has managed to get both his arms back between Stay's legs - danger averted. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stay looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stay trying to control the position.
Glass wants to stand but Stay is controlling his posture from full guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Glass content to stall in guard here.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Stay takes the fight into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. A head punch blocked on the inside by Glass. Stay lands a left hand that snaps the head of Glass backwards.
It looks like Elvis Glass has been cut. Glass tumbles to the floor! Stay threw a big shot that dropped him and now Stay is on top looking to finish! Glass has guard but can he survive?!
Glass is rocked! Stay is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Oh Glass is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Stay advances position into side control! Stay in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Glass is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
