PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Winford Cameron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vince Bandito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Winford Cameron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vince Bandito!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bandito has managed to clinch.
Cameron lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Cameron really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cameron jumps guard but Bandito turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Bandito has Cameron pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Bandito pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Cameron tumbling to the mat - Bandito dives into Cameron's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cameron looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bandito is one step ahead there.
Bandito postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cameron is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bandito is controlling him.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bandito misses with a double jab
and Cameron counters with a two punch combo.

Bandito feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cameron looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bandito is one step ahead there.
Cameron wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Bandito would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bandito stands up over Cameron, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Cameron looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Cameron keeping moving, preventing Bandito from controlling successfully.
Bandito throws a big elbow that misses.
Cameron is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bandito wants to control from the top but Cameron keeps moving.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bandito shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bandito throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cameron defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bandito.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cameron.
Bandito misses with a kick to the body.
Bandito throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cameron.
Cameron shoots in looking for a takedown. Bandito tries to sprawl out of it but Cameron keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bandito manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Winford Cameron. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bandito gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Cameron tries to score a body lock takedown but Bandito shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Bandito gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Cameron has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Bandito has passed into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The ground and pound from Bandito seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Cameron's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Bandito has closed the distance and engaged Cameron in a clinch.
Bandito changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cameron fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Vince Bandito seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bandito pushes Cameron up against the cage in a clinch.
Cameron jumps guard but Bandito stands there with Cameron around his waist. Cameron gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

It looked like Cameron was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Winford Cameron has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vince Bandito.

Bandito lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cameron circles away quickly and effectively.
Bandito has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Cameron closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Bandito is working to avoid the ground and pound but Cameron connects with a decent elbow.

Bandito throws a solid leg kick but Cameron takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bandito.

Cameron shoots in for a takedown but Bandito shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Cameron looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bandito! But no joy.

Cameron misses with a takedown attempt - Bandito sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bandito is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cameron is trying is best to control the position here.
Bandito wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cameron keeps working.

Bandito is looking for a kimura but Cameron is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bandito to get the leverage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cameron wants to improve his position but Bandito is controlling well.
Cameron wants to get back to his feet.

Bandito is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cameron defends it well.
Vince Bandito has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bandito thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Cameron knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bandito on the ground.
Bandito working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Cameron tries to roll over but Bandito keeps him under control.

Vince Bandito showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Cameron throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Bandito to regain full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

and Bandito counters with a nice body shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cameron.
Bandito ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Bandito moves into range and clinches up with Cameron.

Cameron escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Cameron is looking to stand up but Bandito isn't so interested in that idea.

Vince Bandito is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Vince Bandito comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bandito has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
